To best understand our style, take a look at our blog. Here, we’ll answer a few questions of what we offer.
How much would it cost for you to photograph our wedding?
Great question — and probably the most frequent one we get. Every couple is different, and every couples’ needs and vision for their wedding is different. So, the answer? It depends. We create packages specific to each of our couples, and we also like to meet with our couples in-person before any discussion of cost in order to understand what you need. Interested? Contact Anya at anya [at] andphotographers [dot] com for more information.
How do you work?
Our goal is to make you feel as if we’re not even there. Sound a bit odd? We don’t want you or your spouse-to-be worrying that we’re missing moments. With two of us, we’ll be there for it. Our approach is proven to capture the most candid moments — not the ones where everyone offers their best fake smile, but real, genuine moments of compassion, love and enthusiasm. If one of us is at one angle, the other is taking a different approach, looking for quieter moments that really tell the story of your day.
What’s included in a typical package?
There’s no “typical” package, but here’s some of what we offer. Two photographers — Anya and Dan — for part or all of your special day. We can photograph the ceremony only, the reception only or the entire day, from hair and make-up and preparation to the ceremony, formal photos with the bridal party, all the way through the last dance. In any wedding package, we include a free one-hour engagement session at the location of your choosing. Not sure where to have it? We’ve got plenty of ideas to offer.
If you’re looking for a more permanent way to remember your day, we also can print and deliver hardcover photo albums of your day and can arrange for printing services for individual images through our image-hosting website, PhotoShelter. We also offer couples the opportunity to have a one-year anniversary shoot with us a year after their wedding.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
For weddings, we’ll provide you with at least 25 sneak-peak images within three days of your event so you can share them with friends and family while the memories are still fresh. From there, it typically takes about four to six weeks to present a set of high-resolution, color-corrected images, all of which are available only through a password-protected photo gallery.
For portrait and engagement sessions, we’ll provide at least five edited, color-corrected images within three days and the final set of images within two weeks.
Do you shoot in color, black and white, or both?
We shoot entirely in color and will convert select images to black-and-white if we feel they’re better photos. That’s often because static or flat colors just don’t translate well in a photo (frequently indoors). In many case, though, we provide a photo in color and black-and-white so you can choose. If you would like us to shoot exclusively in black-and-white or color, just ask.
Do you bring assistants with you?
We work together as both primary shooters and second shooters/assistants. For very large weddings, we may consider bringing another assistant along, but to date we’ve never done that.
Do you offer video services?
At this point, we don’t offer to shoot video separately, though we work well with videographers and know several professionals we would be happy to recommend.
Do you travel?
Yes, we love traveling. Most of our work is based in Denver and Colorado, but we’ve traveled throughout the country to shoot before. Please note that additional costs may be required for anything outside of the Denver metro area.
What equipment do you use?
Anya and Dan both use professional level Nikon equipment — and have for several years. In the end, though, it doesn’t really matter. The photographer creates the vision and ultimately the pictures, not the camera.
We use PhotoShelter, a leader among image professionals for showcasing and presenting our work.
____________
Please remember that our packages and other information here is designed to answer just the most basic questions. We both strongly prefer to meet our clients in-person before committing to work with you. If, after a meeting, you don’t feel we’re a fit for you, we’re happy to recommend you to the handful of trusted, quality photographers we know in the Denver area who produce similar work.
